Introduction

Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 tbsp olive oil
    5 cloves garlic
    1 can (29 oz) tomato puree
    salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a small pot or saucepan. Saute the garlic until it's nicely browned, about 2 minutes. IMMEDIATELY add the tomato puree, stir, and add salt and pepper to taste. Lower the heat (so it doesn't burn) and heat through, about 7-8 minutes.

Variations: as many as you like. We usually don't go farther than adding crushed red pepper.

Makes 4 1-cup servings.
