1 cup lentils
2/3 onion chopped
2-3tsp ginger peeled and minced
1tsp canola oil
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp cumin seed
1-2T lemon juice
salt and garamsala to taste
In a heavy pan, saute cumin seed in the oil, add chopped onions and minced ginger. Cook over low heat until onions are tender.
Stir into lentils.
When lentils are tender, remove from heat and stir in garamasala, lemon juice and salt
