Uncle Austin's Granola

Submitted by: STEENALLS

Introduction

I got this recipe off of a blog called home sick texan. It's the best granola recipe I've ever tried! It's not low-call or low-fat, but it's super tasty! Ingredients

    10 cups rolled oats
    1 cup dried milk
    6 cups nuts, chopped
5 cups dried, unsweetened coconut flakes
    2.5 tsp. Salt
    1.5 cups vegetable oil
    1 cup honey
1 box Zante currants (ADDED AFTER BAKING!!!)

Directions

Heat oven to 300

Mix all the dry ingredients thoroughly (leave out currants), add all the wet ingredients to them. (if you measure the oil before the honey, it'll keep the honey from sticking to the measuring cup.)

Put it in pans 1-3 inches thick and bake.

Use a spatula to turn it every 5 minutes or so. It's best to take it out before it seems done. When it's hot to the touch and golden, it's ready to go.

Add currants.

Makes approximately 27- 1 cup servings.
