SuperFood Yogurt Parfait

Submitted by: SLASALLE

Introduction

This is a power-packed breakfast, lunch or dessert, using multiple superfoods AND including healthy omega-3 fats from the flax seed. With the berries and nuts, I don't even miss sweeteners and I feel like I've had a huge treat for breakfast every day. Ingredients

1/2-cup thawed frozen blueberries (the wild, smaller berries are better, but not required)
1 cup sliced or quartered strawberries
    1 cup Plain nonfat yogurt
    Whole Almonds, 6
    Pecans, 6
    Flax Seed, 1T

Directions

In a parfait glass (or you can use a bowl), alternate layers of berries and yogurt, making sure the top layer includes berries. You can substitute raspberries or any other kind of berries, if desired. Top with almonds, pecans and flax seed. You can add granola, if you wish, but that's not included in the nutritional calculation.
