I loved the turkey and black bean joes. I know some family don't like beans, but there are ways to hide them. Try puting them in the blender with the tomato past and blend until you can no longer see them. This also good to do with chili. It cause less gas and adds much fiber. - 6/13/08

This was awesome! I made a couple of changes, used 1 lb extra lean ground beefand 1/2 lb ground turkey. Used tomato sauce and a little bbq sauce. Put in crockpot for 3 hours. Loved it, ate as chili with some melted cheese on top. Even 14 year old son loved it! Will definately make again. - 11/3/08

Watch those buns! So many of the wheat / whole grain buns out there have a load of calories. I recommend and manually entered into the SparkPeople system my favorite bun: Sara Lee Delightful Wheat Hamburger Bun (90 calories, 2g of fat, 8g of protein, 6g of fiber). - 9/5/09

I have made this twice in two weeks. My family loved it the first time. The second time I only used 1 lb. of ground turkey, eliminated the olive oil and tomato juice, and added 1/2 cup of salsa. I was out of onion, so I used onion flakes, and garlic powder. It was amazing!!! - 7/10/09

I subbed 2 cans of low salt diced tomates for the tomato juice and tomatoes with chilis and added a couple of seeded, deveined jalapenos, and diced a red sweet pepper, large peeled carrot, peeled parsnip, and added 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin. I put all into the crockpot for a few hours - mmmmm

This was fantastic! I didn't think it was like chili at all. I let it simmer for awhile and a lot of the extra liquid evaporated, and became more of the sloppy-joe consistency. I'm eating the left-overs for lunch today! - 5/23/08

This was pretty good. Definately healthier than the regular version. I forgot the onion (shame on me) so maybe that would have helped the flavor a bit. Next time, I think I'll only use half the beans and add a bit more spice. It was just a little bland for me. My husband liked it though. - 7/10/08

I personaaly can't eat it because of thevarious ingredients but I think my family will like this one. I am definitely going to try it...if it is a hit maybe I will make it for the family reunion! - 5/8/08
