4 tablespoons finely chopped onion 2 tablespoons butter low fat 2 tablespoons flour 1/2 teaspoon sweetner 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup sour cream salt and pepper to taste 6 cups green beans 4 oz's swiss cheese 1/2 cup crushed corn flakes
Saute onions in butter for 3 min,s. Add flour and sir well. Whisk in milk, sour cream, sweetner, salt and pepper and remove from heat. In large casserole mix green beans and sauce. Top with grated swiss cheese and crushed corn flakes. Bake at 400 for 35 to45 min,s.Makes 12 1/2 cup servings.
Very yummy. Made it for Thanksgiving. Used about 3 lbs of fresh beans and tripled sauce. Also used slow cooker. Next time I would cut up the beans and cook them a bit first. It's a keeper Good replacement for the soup & onion version
