Hellfire Hot Chili

Introduction

This chili started out with a basic recipe I found elsewhere, and my husband and I have since tweaked it until it's filled with heat and flavor. Sometimes we throw in some mango slices for a delicious counter-balance. This chili started out with a basic recipe I found elsewhere, and my husband and I have since tweaked it until it's filled with heat and flavor. Sometimes we throw in some mango slices for a delicious counter-balance.
Number of Servings: 17

Ingredients

    2 lbs ground turkey
    1 can black beans
    1 can kidney beans
    2 15 oz cans tomato sauce
    1 cup salsa
    4 tbls taco seasoning
    1 tsp black pepper
    2 tsp red pepper flakes
    1/2 tsp garlic salt
    1 small yellow habanero pepper
    3 diced canned Jalapeno slices

    Can also add:
    Fresh cilantro
    Minced garlic
    Ground cumin

Directions

Brown the ground turkey over medium-high heat. While doing this, add 1 can of black beans, 1 can of kidney beans, two cans of 15 oz tomato sauce, 1 cup salsa and the seasonings to a large soup pot. Heat to simmering. Add the browned turkey, stir well. Let simmer for 1 - 4 hours, serve with shredded cheese and cornbread.

This makes 17 servings of 1/2 cup size.
