Blonde Brownies

Introduction

A 50 year old favorite from eastern Pennsylvania; these brownies are thick and fluffy.
Can probably be made more healthy if you choose.

Number of Servings: 24

Ingredients

    2 C brown sugar
    2/3 C shortening
    4 eggs
    2 t vanilla
    2 C flour
    1-1/2 t baking powder
    1/2 t salt
    1-1/2 C semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan. Preheat oven to 350.
Measure brown sugar and shortening into a mixing bowl. Add one egg at a time, beating after each addition. Add vanilla, flour, baking powder and salt and beat just until mixed. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
Test with a toothpick, do not overbake.
Cut into 24 pieces.
