Red Bean Chili By Macs

Introduction

This is so much faster & easier than my old way of making chili.
I took this recipe from a can of Goya Small Red Beans and added my own preferred ingredients. I did not have Chili Seasoning at the time so I used Ortega Jalepeno Taco Spice Seasoning, but I calculated this using chili seasoning ( a whole packet) We like the heat if you don't -- use less seasoning You can subtract the 120 calories (from the entire recipe)
I used the small red beans AND Dark Red Kidney Beans I thought this tasted as good as Wendy's and my Husband said it is way BETTER! Bless his heart :-)

*Please note - this was made with Ground Chuck (the leanest that the store had) the recipe as is -- is about 37% fat.

Ingredients

    *80/20 Ground Chuck, 20 oz ( 1.25 lbs)
    * Chopped Garlic, 1 tbsp
    *Onion (80gm) chopped raw onion, 0.5 cup
    *Green Bell Pepper, chopped, .5 cup
    Small Red Beans 1 - 15.5oz can (439)
    Dark Red Kidney Beans (GOYA)1- 15.5oz. can (439g)
    *Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies (Rotel) - 2cans
    *Chili Seasoning - McCormick 1.25 oz packet,
    *TONE'S granulated garlic, 1 tsp
    *Onion Powder, 1 tsp
    *Canned Tomato Paste, 2 tbsp
    Water, tap, .75 cup (8 fl oz)

Directions

makes 16 1 cup servings
1. Combine beef, onion, pepper, garlic and tomato paste.
2. Cookin in a large skillet over medium high heat until meat is browned. Add Seasoning mix and water.
3. Stir in remaining ingredients.
4. Reduce Heat and simmer uncovered about 20 minutes.

*Serve with rice, pasta or your favorite toppings.
