50 ounces of ham (after cut from the bone and cubed)
5 cups cubed white potatoes
10 cups chopped cabbage
Place ham and onion in heated cast iron dutch oven on medium heat. When onion is tender, layer potatoes over ham. Sprinkle with seasonings. Layer cabbage on top and sprinkle with seasonings again. Drizzle about a cup of water over mixture. Cover and cook at medium low heat for about 45 minutes or until cabbage is tender, gently folding mixture to mix once midway through.
Yields 13-1 cup servings.
