Introduction
This is basic split pea soup and one of my husbands favorite foods. Cooks very fast in a pressure cooker or all day in the slow cooker. We love it with biscuits, home made fries or millet cakes. Ingredients

4 cups dry split peas (2 1-pound bags)
1 tbs oregano
4 tbs onion powder
4 tbs garlic powder
16 cups of water or veggie broth
5 stalks of celery, chopped
5 carrots, chopped
2 bay leafs
Directions
Throw everything in the pressure cooker, bring to high pressure and cook for 20 minutes.
OR
Throw everything in the slow cooker and cook all day while at work.
OR
Place everything in a large pot and bring to a boil. Lower heat and let simmer for about 1 1/2 hours.
Serving size is for 1/16 of recipe. About 1 1/2 cups.
