Wild & Brown Rice base

Introduction

I bake this up in a casserole dish, then freeze in one cup portions. No need to keep watch on the stove top.
A great base for many lean dishes!!
**Substituting chicken broth for the water (equal Amt.) adds great flavor, but changes the sodium & calorie counts.

Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 c brown rice
    1 c wild rice
    5 c chicken broth

    Add seasoning, canned mushrooms, etc to taste. Because of the long baking time, onions, celery, etc can taste bitter.

Directions

Pour ingredients into a greased (use cooking spray!) 2-qt casserole. Bake @ 350 for 1 hour to 1-1/2 hour, or until liquid is absorbed.
