Steelcut Oatmeal with Cranberries and Apples

Introduction

Cook a week worth of breakfast while you're asleep. Easy to pack and take to work. Fruits can be changed according to personal taste. Dried apricots and raisins work well. Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    2 cups Steelcut or Irish oatmeal
    8 cups water
    1 cup chopped apple
    1/3 cup dried cranberries
    dash salt

Directions

Mix oats, water, cranberries and salt in 5 or 6 quart slow cooker. Add the apples in last hour of cooking. Set on low for 7 to 8 hours. Add more water for a creamier consistency.

    Yes it does. I have portioned out serving sizes in the refrigerator for a week's worth of breakfast, really saves on time.
