Cheese and Ham Quiche


Cheese and Ham Quiche

Ingredients

    Pie crust, (recipe on Crisco)
    Egg, fresh, 12 medium
    chopped ham, 3 oz
    Colby Cheese, 1.5 cup, shredded
    Salt, 1 tsp
    Pepper, black, 1 tsp
    Dill weed, dried, 1 tbsp
    Milk, 2%, .25 cup

Directions

Prepare Pie Crust as directed on the Crisco label. (optional: instead of forming dough for 1 pie crust, separate into 6 balls to fill in ramekins to make individual quiches.)

Combine the rest of the ingredients in a mixing bowl and whisk until blended. (For ramekins, set ham and half of the cheese aside and layer it in the bottom of the individual pies). Pour mixture in the crust(s) and bake for 30 minutes at 425.

  • this recipe's calories could be cut by using reduced fat cheese and even less cheese than it calls for and skim milk. As for the pie shell I'm sure there are variations that could be used to cut down on calories as well. - 9/20/09
