Ingredients

    2 cans Great Northern beans
    2 cans tomato puree
    1 Tbsp olive oil
    1 very small yellow onion
    1 clove garlic
    1 tsp chili powder
    pinch cayenne
1 Tb worchestershire sauce (vegetarian, if desired)
    1 1/2 Tb soy sauce/tamari sauce
    1 Tbsp dry mustard
    1 tsp smoked paprika
    3 tbsp honey
    2 tbsp molasses
    1/3 cup vinegar

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Heat the oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, cover, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the chili powder and cayenne. Add the tomato puree, and remaining sauce ingredients. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until slightly reduced, about 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Place the beans in a lightly oiled 1 ½ quart baking dish. Add the sauce, stirring to combine. Cover and bake until hot and bubbly, about 20 minutes. Serve hot.

Serves 6, about 2/3-3/4 cup each.
