Molasses Energy Drink

Submitted by: FICBOT

Introduction

Almost double the calcium and iron of regular chocolate 'milk' and easy to whip up in the blender! Almost double the calcium and iron of regular chocolate 'milk' and easy to whip up in the blender!
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    1 cup soy milk
    1 tbsp cocoa powder
    1 tsp granulated sugar
    1 tbsp blackstrap molasses

Directions

Combine all ingredients in small blender and blend until well-blended. Tastes just like chocolate milk!

Note: I developed this drink after being told I needed more iron in my diet. This has 29.6% RDA compared to 10.2% of my regular drink, and for calcium it has 47.9% RDA compared to 30.7% of my regular drink.

Number of Servings: 1

I tried this with chocolate almond milk and Black strap molasses. Almond milk is very good for you, loaded with calcium also, and I'm looking at ways to take in more Black strap molasses for the nutrients found in that, too. Worked out just fine! (^_^) - 2/8/12
