Pepperoni bread

Ingredients

    1 pkg dry yeast
    1 cup warm water
    2 tbsp sugar
    1tsp salt
    1 tbsp oil
    1/4 cup onion flakes
    2 1/2 cups flour
    5-10 oz sliced pepperoni
    melted butter
    poppy seeds

Directions

Dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar, salt, oil and onion flakes. Let stand 5 minutes, then add flour. Sit in warm place and let rise at least 1 hour. Knead batter and shape in long strip and form into a horseshoe shape. Make a groove in center of dough. Brush with melted butter lightly and then fill with very thinly sliced pepperoni. Pinch dough back together. Place groove upside down on greased cookie sheet. Brush with melted butter on top and sprinkle on poppy seeds. Place in warm place and let rise one hour again. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes. If desired brush again with melted butter. Slice into thin 1 inch strips of bread.
