Introduction

This was my grandmother's recipe. It is very light and fluffy, which makes it easy to eat too much of! She always served it in a bowl with cream or milk poured over the top. Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    ***Cake Batter***
    1 cup Sugar
    1/4 cup Butter, softened
    1 large Egg
    1 cup Milk, nonfat
    1 tsp Vanilla Extract
    1/2 tsp Almond Extract
    1/2 tsp Lemon Extract
    2 cups flour
    2 tsp Baking Powder
    1/2 tsp Salt
    ***Topping***
    4 tbsp Butter
    1/4 cup Sugar
    1 tsp Cinnamon

Directions

Cream together sugar and butter, add egg and mix well. Combine milk and flavoring extracts, add to sugar mixture and mix well. Combine flour, baking powder & salt, mix into batter. Pour into a 9x13 cake pan, bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, or until cake is slightly golden around the edges. Spread the 4 Tbsp butter on the cake while it is hot and sprinkle with the cinnamon & suger --OR-- melt the butter and combine with the cinnamon & sugar and spread on the hot cake. Makes 12 servings.
