IntroductionA basic french bread. A basic french bread.
Six cups flour
4 tsp bakers yeast
2 tsp salt
2 cups warm water
Mix ingredients in stand mixer until incorporated. Then mix for six minutes more to knead. Let rise for one hour or until doubled in size. Form loaves, and let proof in refrigerator overnight or up to 24 hours. Remove from refrigerator and let rest on counter until oven heats up to 400 F. bake for 20 minutes, then rotate pans and bake another 20 minutes.
For brown crust, place a pan with a quarter inch of water in the oven on the rack below the bread.
