1 - lb dry great northern beans 30 baby carrots (chopped) 2 medium stalks of celery (chopped) 1/2 cup onion (chopped) 1 pound sausage links 4 chicken bouillon cubes 1 bay leaf 1 tsp basil (dried) 1 tsp garlic powder 10 cups water
Put beans in large dutch oven pan. Cover with water and let simmer for an hour. Drain and rinse beans, and return to pan. Add 10 cups water, 1 bay leaf, and 4 chicken bouillon cubes. Boil for an hour. Cook sausage links until done. Cut them into small pieces. Add carrots, celery, onion, sausage, basil, and garlic to the beans. Continue cooking until vegetables are done.
