3.35 pound pot roast, cut in six pieces
4 carrots, chopped
1 onion, chopped
4 celery stalks, chopped
1 large tomato, chopped
1 cup cubed sweet potato
Herbs and pepper
2 tbsp safflower oil
1 cup water
1/2 cup red wine
Add meat and vegetables, water and wine to slow cooker.
Cook in slow-cooker for 6 hours, plus or minus.

this sounds good will try it maybe add half cup od red wine in the beginning garlic cloves chopped sweet potato would make it a complete meal in one pot - 9/11/09

Oh man, I have a sweet potato I'd meant to add! It's sitting right there... . Red wine is a GREAT idea. Thanks for the review!
ETA -- I just added sweet potato and wine to the cooker, and changed the recipe accordingly. Thanks so much for the suggestions!
