This was my Grandmother's recipe. It should make about 4 qts. This was my Grandmother's recipe. It should make about 4 qts.Number of Servings: 128
Ingredients

12 Med size pickles
Alum
White Vinegar 5+% acidity
1 Cup water
1 Cup Sugar
1/4 cup salt
1 Large onion (peeled)
3 Celery Stalks
8 sprigs of fresh dill
Directions
Slice pickles length wise and soak in cold water with 1 tsp Alum for a few hours or over night. Make syrup of 24 oz white vinegar, 8 oz water, 1 cup sugar, 1/4 cup salt. Heat to a boil. Makes 2 qts. Put onion, celery, dill, and pickles in hot jars. Pour boiling syrup in to jars with above ingredients. Seal with hot lids and rings. Boil in a hot water bath for 5 minutes.
