Garlic Hummus

Introduction

I always bring this appetizer to parties. It is quick and easy to make (plus low in calories). When I serve it with celery, I can enjoy a great appetizer without the guilt! I always bring this appetizer to parties. It is quick and easy to make (plus low in calories). When I serve it with celery, I can enjoy a great appetizer without the guilt!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 can chickpeas (Hummus)
    2 large cloves garlic
    1 tsp oilive oil
    1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
    1/2 tsp paprika
    dash black pepper
    1 tsp Tahini
    Juice from half a lemon or lime

Directions

drain chickpeas and set juice aside
Put all ingredients into a food processor
Pulse once or twice to get things broken down.

Turn on food processor and add small amount of chickpea juice until you get smooth spreadable consistency. (Go light on the juice you can always add more if you need it, but if you add too much it is runny)

spread in a shallow plate drizzle the top with just a little olive oil and sprinkle with a little more paprika. Serve with Pita, celery, or crackers. Also makes a great spread on a sandwich.
