Ingredients
Ingredients:
*Barley, Quaker quick 1/2 cup dry
*Bell Pepper, Red Raw, 0.5 cup
*Onion (80gm) chopped raw onion, 0.75 cup
*Jimmy Dean Premium Pork Hot Sausage, 4 oz
Morning Star Farms Sausage Style Recipe Crumbles, or Griller Crumbles - 2 serving (1. 1/3 cup)
Broccoli, fresh, 1 cup, chopped
*Chicken Stock, Swanson 33% less sodium, 1 cup
Directions
In a saucepan bring the chicken stock to a boil and add the barley, sprinkle with a bit of cayenne pepper and cover.
In a fry pan, crumble and start to brown 4 oz of hot pork sausage. Add the Morning Star Farms Crumbles.
Add the chopped onion.
Stir and brown.
Stir the chopped red pepper into the barley after 8 minutes or so, while placing the broccoli into the fry pan with the meat mixture.
After the barley is done (10 minutes or so), mix into the meat mixture.
Serve when the broccoli is al dente'.
