Powerhouse smoothie

Submitted by: REBAP123

Introduction

This fantastic smoothie has 4 of your fruit and vegetable servings, and over 1500 mg. of potassium. What a great way to eat your spinach! You'd never know that it has this vegetable in it. I use it as my lunch, or late afternoon snack. You could add some protein powder, or some extra fiber powder for additional goodness. Useful if on blood pressure medication since it is such a powerhouse of potassium. This fantastic smoothie has 4 of your fruit and vegetable servings, and over 1500 mg. of potassium. Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

1 carton yoplait key lime low fat yogurt
    1 med. banana
3/4 c. Dole frozen fruit (pineapple, mango, peach, strawberry)
    1 c. spinach (loosely packed)
    1 c. Tropicana 50 orange juice
    1 c. chopped ice.

Directions

Add the ingredients and blend up in your blender until smooth. If it's too thick, add a bit of water until it blends. This makes close to 3 cups so it can be shared, but I drink the whole thing if I use it as a lunch. What a great way to get those fruits and veggies
