This was very good but i added a mixture of herbs and spices to pep it up. Because it was so easy I would make it again. - 7/2/09

This is a really good base for a recipe to spice up to your own taste. It's okay if the recipe is followed exactly but it definitely tastes a little too "healthy" for me. I added a little garlic salt to make it just right! - 4/15/09

  • Halved the recipe and used regular instead of fat-free mushroom soup. Everything else in it is so low-calorie, a little fat from the mushroom soup isn't so bad. Tasted excellent, but next time I will add garlic as many people have suggested! - 10/5/11

  • Instead of using the sour cream i used greek yogurt to add a little zing. Also, i added just mushrooms and 2 tbs of alfredo sauce and served it over with brown rice. (we also had peas splashed with balsamic vinagrette). On the whole a pretty good dinner. - 8/8/11

  • Interesting that stroganoff implies mushrooms. My Mom never made it with mushrooms (and I've never cooked a stroganoff, yet). I will try this with the corn substitution, no fungus for me & my family! - 4/15/11

  • To you folks adding corn (????), and removing mushrooms.... this is a stroganoff recipe? By definition it has mushrooms.

On another note the FF soup is a bit runny, so I used a low sodium, and again as abouve added just a bit of garlic, tuerns out great! Thanx for posting this hearty favorite! - 1/20/11

  • Made this tonight as kind of a last minute meal with what we had in the house. We loved it! I used 1 can of cream of mushroom instead. I'm not a fan of mushrooms so I sauteed them w/frozen onions and put them on top of my hubby's plate. The only seasoning I used was salt/pepper & it was great! - 8/19/10

  • I had to play with this a bit-i chopped up some garlic and had to add garlic salt to it to make it taste right. i also used smart balance sour cream but only used 1/2 a cup and added a little skim milk to it because it was a very thick. otherwise, my family enjoyed it! - 7/16/10

  • I took the advice of so many here to add more spices, so I did. It was very good! I added some dry mustard and that really helped. Also, I divided out my portion, to which I added fat free plain yogurt, and put real sour cream my husband's portio. He also had whole wheat pasta, I had none! - 3/10/10

  • I've been making a recipe similar to this for years. I always play with the seasoning. However, I at times will serve it over rice. I use Lite Sour Cream because the ff is too watery & only one can of soup. I think that this taster better reheated than the day of! Great for leftover lunches! - 2/22/10

  • This is a really easy and good recipe. One thing I did to add a little more flavor to it is to use one can of fat free cream of mushroom and one can of fat free cream of mushroom with roasted garlic. Also added some garlic, pepper, and italian seasoning to the mean while browning. - 2/10/10

Not really a fan. If I were to make this again, I'd add corn and subtract the mushrooms. I'd also add more spices. I wasn't sure what spice would go with it, and it tasted quite bland so I just salt and peppered it to death just to get it down. :-/ Partially my fault for not understanding seasoning. - 2/9/10
