Introduction

I think these are the best vege burgers Iíve made. The flavor is good and the texture is perfect. The other great thing about these patties is that they are baked! They also freeze great. If youíre kids donít like nuts, just make sure the nuts are chopped finely. These days, I chop and grate everything in the food processor. I think these are the best vege burgers Iíve made. Ingredients

    1. Place the following in a large pot:
    ē 4 Ĺ cups water
    ē Ĺ cup soy sauce

    2. When boiling, add the oatmeal and continue cooking for 10 minutes:
    ē 4 Ĺ cups oatmeal, rolled oats

    3. Add:
    ē 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    ē 1 tablespoon chicken seasoning
    ē ľ cup nutritional yeast flakes
    ē ĺ cup chopped nuts
    ē ľ cups sesame seeds (optional)
    ē 1/3 cup olive oil
    ē 1 large onion, chopped
    ē 1 potato, raw and grated
    ē 1 carrot, grated
    ē Ĺ teaspoon dried oregano
    ē Ĺ teaspoon dried basil

    3. Mix everything together and form into patties. Place on cookie sheet that has been sprayed with Pam and bake for 20 minutes at 350˚, turn patties and bake for another 20 minutes.
