Smothered Hamburger Steaks

Ingredients

    2 eggs
    2 tbsp onion, finely chopped
    salt and pepper to taste
    3 slices Aunt Millies Light Whole Wheat Bread
    2 lbs lean ground beef
    1 can Campbells Cream of Mushroom Soup 98% Fat Free
    1 can water (10.75)
    1 dash worcestershire sauce

Directions

Whisk together the eggs, onion, salt and pepper in a bowl. Tear the bread into large pieces and place in the bowl. Allow to sit and absorb the liquid. Add the ground beef and mix well. Form into 8 patties. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and fry the patties until browned and the meat is no longer pink, about 8 minutes per side. Remove the patties and set aside. Remove excess grease from skillet. Whisk in mushroom soup, water and worcestershire sauce until smooth. Place the patties back into the skillet and spoon sauce over them to cover. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook until the sauce is thickened and the flavors have blended, about 20 minutes. Makes 8 servings.
