Plain Oven-Baked Brown Rice

Submitted by: CURVES_N_CURLS

Introduction

***This is NOT my recipe - I've taken it right off here, at SparkRecipes.com --- this is LILDINI's "Fool Proof" recipe. But the one on here has incorrect nutritional / serving information, and has never been up-dated... I wanted to re-do it so it'd be correct. I always double the recipe and save the left-overs, so I've used the doubled quantities below. NOT TRYING TO PLAGERISE!!!*** :) ***This is NOT my recipe - I've taken it right off here, at SparkRecipes.com --- this is LILDINI's "Fool Proof" recipe. Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    * 3 cups Brown Rice, dry
    * 4 2/3 cups Water
    * 4 tsp. Olive Oil
    * 2 tsp. Sea Salt

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375 F and move a rack to the middle position. Spread the rice into an 9" x 13" glass baking dish. In a covered saucepan on the stove, bring the water and oil to a boil over high heat. Once it begins to boil, stir in the salt and pour over the rice. Cover the baking dish tightly with a double layer of foil. Bake for one hour, until tender. Remove from the oven and uncover. Fluff the rice with a fork, cover with a clean kitchen towel; let rice stand 5 minutes. Uncover for another 5 minutes, then serve immediately.

NOTE: Makes 16 (((SMALL))) lightly-packed 1/2 cup 'servings'. (Many would want to eat 2 'servings', or 1 full cup of rice.)

Enjoy! :)
