IntroductionHere is a great way to use up your green tomatoes from the garden! Here is a great way to use up your green tomatoes from the garden!
5 cups green tomato puree
5 cups sugar
Raspberry jello, 2 small or one large box (8 servings total)
Storage containers (we use quart jars)
Grind fresh tomatoes to make roughly 5 cups of puree.
Place puree, sugar, and lemon juice in large pot - mix thoroughly.
Simmer for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat.
Mix in Jello.
Place in jars, allow to cool before closing. Be sure to wipe jars and sealing area well before closing.
Keeps well in freezer, just pull out each new jar a couple of days before the old one is gone!
Makes about 2 quart jars per 5 cups puree.
