Pasta with Pumpkin Sauce

Ingredients

1 lb penne pasta
1 1/2 cups broccoli florets
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 1/4 cups fat free half and half
1 cup canned cooked pumpkin
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
Optional (not included in nutritional info) add sliced sausage or grilled chicken (but then no longer vegetarian)
Directions
1. Cook pasta as package directs, adding broccoli 3 minutes before pasta will be done.
2. If adding sausage or grilled chicken, cook in large skillet over med-high heat
3. Add pumpkin pie spice, half and half, pumpkin, sugar and salt to skillet. Heat to boiling and cook 1 minute longer
4. Drain pasta and broccoli, return to pt. Add sauce and toss to mix
