Uncle Ken's Tomato Soup

Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    12 cups of whole canned tomatoes, blended
    3/4 cup sugar
    6 cups water
    2 1/2 t onion flake
    3/4 tsp celery salt
    2 oz beef base (1/4 cup)
    1 1/2 sticks of butter (12T)
    1/2 cup flour

Directions

Bring first 6 items to boil in a large soup pot. In a small pot, melt butter and add flour. Stir mixture to make a paste. Whisk butter mixture into tomato mixture to thicken. Continue to simmer soup until thickened. This can be canned in quart jars.
