Introduction

Ingredients

    1 lb Ham ( Cure 81), diced
    I med. onion, diced
    2 cups celery, chopped
    1 cup carrots, chopped
    1 pat Butter
    2 tsp pepper
    2 tsp onion powder
    1 tsp salt
    12 cups water
    16 oz pkg dried split peas

Directions

In a large stock pot, saute the onion , celery and carrot in the butter, add ham and heat through. Throughly rinse peas and add to pot. Cover with 12 cups of water. Bring to roiling boil and boil for 30 mins. Turn down and simmer at least another 30. Make sure peas are tender. Serve with Toast or croutons( not included in calories) should make about 12 - 1 cup servings but you will want more for a dinner meal
