Ingredients
-
22 oz Flank Steak
1 crushed garlic clove
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp rice wine
5 slices of ginger root (or to taste)
1 tbsp corn starch
2 tbsp water (cold)
1/2 cup mushroom stock
4 cups broccoli
1/2 tbsp peanut oil
Directions
Cut beef flank into strips.
In medium size bowl: coat the beef in a mixture of the soy sauces, oyster sauce, garlic, sugar, rice wine, and ginger.
In small bowl: dissolved the corn starch into the 2 tbsp of cold water.
Heat oil in a cast iron pan.
Fry the beef until just browned on all sides. There should be lots of juice in the pan.
Add the 1/2 cup mushroom stock.
Add the dissolved corn starch (you may have to remix before adding to the pan).
Cook until the gravy is somewhat thick.
Add the broccoli. Cover with a lid. Allow the broccoli to cook until it reaches the desired texture.
Serves about 8 servings (allows for each serving to have about 3 oz of beef).
