Apple Crisp (With Lots of Apples)

Submitted by: AEROBICSAHOLIC

Introduction

I find alot of apple crisp recipes don't have enough apples in them. I like a thick layer of apples to go with my crisp, so I use almost a full 5 lb. bag of apples in mine. Ingredients

6 c. thinly sliced apples, peeled and cored
    2/3 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. white flour
1/2 c. quick cooking or old fashioned oats
    1/3 c. hard margarine, softened
3/4 tsp. each cinnamon and nutmeg

Directions

Heat the oven to 375 F.

Arrange the apples in the bottom of a casserole dish. Mix the remainder of the ingredients and sprinkle the apples.

Bake about 30-45 minutes until bubbley and the apples are tender. I place a butter knife at the top of the crisp, and if it falls to the bottom of the dish, then I know it's ready (we like our apples soft).
