Beef Meat Sauce

Ingredients

    1 lb ground sirloin
    1 onion, chopped
    2 celery stalks, chopped
    3 garlic cloves, chopped
    1 cup mushrooms, sliced
    1 tsp thyme, chopped
    1 jar of marinara sauce, any brand
    1 14 oz can diced tomatoes
    1/2 cup chicken or beef broth
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp pepper

Directions

Brown the beef in a large skillet. When the beef is mostly cooked add the onions, celery, garlic and mushrooms and cook for 8 minutes, or until all the vegetables are tender. Stir in the broth, marinara sauce and tomatoes. Season the mixture with the thyme, salt and pepper. Turn the heat down and let the meat sauce simmer until it thickens and most of the liquid has evaporated about 15 minutes.

Serve with pasta.
