Introduction

This is an old-timey recipe from my husbands mom. I made it for the first time this year, and it's a good way to add some more nutrition to a calorie loaded dressing! This is an old-timey recipe from my husbands mom. I made it for the first time this year, and it's a good way to add some more nutrition to a calorie loaded dressing!
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    8 slices whole wheat bread, cubed and toasted
    1/2 cup onion
    1/2 cup celery
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    6 eggs, beaten
    3 1/2 cups lowfat milk
    1 tsp poultry seasoning
    2 tablespoon butter

Directions

Toss your bread cubes in a baking dish with the celery and onions, and salsify. Sprinkle the salt and pepper over top.
Combine the eggs, milk, and poultry seasoning, and pour over mixture. You may sprinkle with Italian seasoning if you want to. Dot with 2 tablespoons butter. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
