Mocha Ricotta Creme

Introduction

*This recipe is copied from South Beach Diet (Phase One Recipes). I really thought that I would not like it because I didn't equate ricotta cheese to be used in a sweet dessert; but, I really enjoyed it. I really thought that I would not like it because I didn't equate ricotta cheese to be used in a sweet dessert; but, I really enjoyed it. I hope you do too!
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    1/2 cup part skim ricotta cheese
    1/2 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa power
    1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 package sugar substitute (i use 1 tablespoon granulated sugar)
    5 mini chocolate chips
    Dash espresso powder (if wanted)

Directions

Mix together the ricotta, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and sugar substitue in a dessert bowl. Serve chilled with a dusting of epresso powder and sprinkled with the mini chocolate chips.

* This recipe is 192 calories with using a 1 sugar packet substitue and 240 calories with 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar

  • I have simplified it more, using the Ricotta cheese, 1 packet of Splenda, and 2 tsp of Sugar Free chocolate sauce. I think that also lowers the calories, but I have not tabulated it. - 2/24/10
