Heredity's Chili

Submitted by: CORDEL

Introduction

Super easy & filling crock-pot meal. Perfect blend of sweet & spicy. My picky eaters LOVE it!

Can be adjusted to a vegetarian meal.

Also great with corn bread and topped with light sour cream & cheese.

Ingredients

    1.25 ground turkey
Tony Chachere's Orig. Creole Seasoning, season to taste
S&W Chili Beans: Pinto Beans, Chili Peppers, Onion & Garlic in a Zesty Tomato Sauce, 2 cans
1 can red kidney beans (drained)
    1 can white beans (drained)
2 cups yellow corn (canned & drained or frozen)
    1 can tomato sauce
    1 can diced, peeled tomotoes
brown sugar (season to taste, up to 1/2 cup)

Directions

Brown ground turkey and season with creole seasoning, to taste, drain.
Meat is optional & can be left out for a vegetarian meal.

Add all the ingredients to the crock-pot.

Cook on Low for 4 hours or more
Makes about 9 servings (2 ladles a serving)

*Haven't made this recipe on a diet so I don't know how many 1 cup servings exactly at this time, sorry.

Can use different types of beans i.e. black beans if you have them on hand.
Also add more cans of beans if you have room in crock pot (mine is a 5 qt & often overflows a bit). Original recipe called for 3 cans red kidney beans, 2 cans white kidney beans & 1 can black beans in addition to the 2 cans of Chili beans I left for the flavor.
