Ingredients

    Dough:
    3 1/3 cups flour
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    2 tsp baking powder
    1tsp salt
    1 1/3 cup sugar

    2/3 cup crisco
    1 cup sour cream
    2 large eggs

    Frosting:
    6 tablespoons salted butter
    3cups powdered sugar
    3 tablespoons whole milk
    1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

This recipe yield 24 large frosted cookies.

Preheat the oven to 350'.
Mix all of the dry dough ingredients together and then cut int the crisco shortening and sour cream.
Add the eggs and mix into a dough. It will be very sticky.
Using a tablespoon, place a heaping spoonful of dough onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet about 2" apart.
Bake for 10 - 15 minutes until cookies are slightly brown around the edges. Remove from the oven and cool completely before frosting.
This buttercream frosting recipe yields exactly enough frosting for 24 cookies.
To make the frosting place 6 Tablespoons of softened butter in a large bowl or free standing mixer. Mix until very soft and creamy with no lumps. Then add the powdered sugar gradually until completely combined. Be sure to scrape the sides of the bowl when needed. Next add the vanilla and the milk. Mix until completely blended and smooth. If it appears too stiff, add more milk. (additional milk is not included in the nitritional information for this recipe.) Frost the cookies using a flat metal spatula or a butter knife. 1 frosted cookie equals 1 serving.
