Cheryl's Taco Dip

Submitted by: KELLYTHEJERK

Introduction

This is the best taco dip ever - I've been making this for over 20 years - I obtained this recipe from a family friend who is one of the best cooks I have ever met in my life. I am always asked to bring this recipe to functions. Ingredients

    2-8oz Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened
8 oz. Pace Medium Picante Sauce
    2 T Sour Cream
    2 C Shredded Lettuce
    1 C Diced Tomatoes
1 small can black olives, sliced
    1 C Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Directions

Mix the cream cheese, picante sauce and sour cream in a mixer. When it's mixed well, turn the speed up to Whip it for a few minutes - you cannot believe how this improves the spreadability and ensures that the cream cheese is mixed into the rest very well. It also increases the volume - I like to make a double batch so I can spread it on a couple large plates. After spreading on the plate/platter, add lettuce, tomatoes, black olives and cheese. You can also add onions if you like. This can be served with either tortilla chips or vegetables and goes very fast, so make sure you get some!
