Maitre d' Butter

Submitted by: KELLYTHEJERK

Introduction

I made this butter to give away as gifts to people this year for Christmas. A small pat atop a sizzling steak or chop gives a zingy yumminess. I made this butter to give away as gifts to people this year for Christmas. A small pat atop a sizzling steak or chop gives a zingy yumminess.

Ingredients

    1/2 C Unsalted Butter (1 stick), softened
    1/2 t Lemon Juice
    1/2 t Worcestershire Sauce
1 t dried parsley (or 1 T snipped fresh parsley)
    Dash Salt (optional)
    Dash Pepper (optional)

Directions

Cream the butter alone until well- creamed, this takes awhile and you must keep scraping the mixing bowl and getting the butter down in the beaters. Let it go until it is very well-creamed. Add the lemon juice, drop by drop and let each drop integrate into the creamed butter. It takes awhile to get the tastes melded into the butter; just keep creaming. When the lemon juice is fully integrated, do the same with the worcestershire sauce, then the parsley. Taste the butter and see if you need to add salt. Make sure if you add salt and pepper that you keep creaming it until it's fully integrated. This could take up to 45 minutes to make the entire recipe. I usually do a full pound at a time so I can use the large mixing bowl on my mixmaster - this makes it much easier to scrape and cream. When it's done, put the butter in small dishes or canning jars. It's only necessary to use a small dollop on the top of a just-cooked steak or chop to add a very good extra taste to your meat.
