Sweet & Spicy Red-Eye Ham Steak (From Rachael Ray show)

Introduction

Serve with buttered grits and seared chard. Great for New Year's Day! Serve with buttered grits and seared chard. Great for New Year's Day!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 large ham steak, about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pounds
    1/3 cup strong coffee
    1/4 cup maple syrup
    3 tablespoons grainy mustard

Directions

Cut the steak into 4 servings, removing the bone. Serve with cheese grits and greens alongside.

Spray a medium-high skillet with Pam cooking spray and add ham steak. Brown the steak a couple of minutes on each side.

Mix coffee, syrup and mustard in a small bowl and pour into pan. Coat the ham with the sauce and caramelize it then transfer to the oven and cook 10 minutes, turning once halfway through the cooking time.

Serves 4

    Let me know how you like it! I am addicted to Rachael Ray and I have been trying to do some of her recipes but cutting out the fat/calories!
