Introduction

Ingredients

    2 medium sized red tomatoes
    1/4 head of cabbage
    3 garlic cloves
    3 tbsp vegetable oil
    8 oz vermicelli noodles
    1/2 pound lean ground meat (you can do a pound)
    1/4 tsp ground cumin
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp ground black pepper
    2 qts water

Directions

1. Chop the tomatoes into 1/4 inche pieces. Chop the cabbage into 1 inch pieces. Peel and mince the garlic.
2. Heat the oil to medium temperature in a large frying pan. add the vermicelli noodles (break into small lengths); saute until the noodles are lightly browned. Remove noodles and set aside.
3. In the same pan saute the garlic and beef until the beef is browned. Drain off the oil.
4. Add the tomatoes, vermicelli, cumin, salt, and ground pepper; stir until all the ingredientss are mixed. Add the water. Bring to a simmer, cover and cook for 10 minutes.
5. Add the cabbage and stire to combine. Simmer, uncovered for 15 minutes.
*You can add any meat that you want. Ground turkey would be less calories. Any left over roast, steak, or smoked sausage that you have on hand.
