Venison Stew

Introduction

My husband is a hunter so we have a few deer roasts every year. This is great on a cold wintery day! I serve it up with garlic cheddar biscuits using the Reduce Fat Bisquick. My husband is a hunter so we have a few deer roasts every year. This is great on a cold wintery day! I serve it up with garlic cheddar biscuits using the Reduce Fat Bisquick.
Number of Servings: 13

Ingredients

    2-1/2 to 3 lb venison roast, browned
    2 pkgs of Liption Onion Mushroom dry soup mix
    2C frozen peas and carrots or preferred mixed veggie choice
    1-1/2 lbs potatoes, chopped/diced
    1-1/2 C sliced mushrooms
    Cornstarch for thickening
    Worchestire sauce to taste

Directions

Cut roast into 3 pieces and brown in a skillet with a splash of worchestire sauce
Meanwhile, cut up potatoes. Combine them with your frozen vegetables and mushrooms in a slow cooker.
Once venison is browned, place it on top of the vegetables in the slow cooker.
In a small bowl, combine the two dry soup packets with 3 cups of water. Pour mixture over meat and vegetables.
Cook on High for 5 - 6 hours or until the meat can be pulled apart with forks.

Makes about 12 - 13 1C servings
