Introduction

Not to spicy hearty chili Not to spicy hearty chili
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    2 lb lean ground beef
    1 med-lg onion chopped
    fresh garlic or garlic powder abt. 1 TBSP
    salt to taste
    pepper to taste--I use about 2 tsp
    2 cans red kidney beans
    1 can black beans
    2 cans low fat, low sodium beef broth
    6 cups (add more as needed) water
    2-3 tsp ground cumin
    1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
    1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies
    1-2 TBSP chili powder

Directions

brown beef with onions and fresh garlic. Drain. Put in large soup pot and add beef broth.
Begin to simmer. Add water, beans, tomatoes and seasonings. I leave out the chili powder for my kids, but add it here. Let simmer about 30 min or longer.
