Ingredients

    # *Vidalia Onion (1 medium onion), 5 serving
halved lengthtwise, then thinly sliced crosswise
    # *BUTTER - I Can't Believe Its Not Butter Spread, 2 tsp (remove)
    # Beef broth, bouillon, consomme, 12 cup (remove)
    # Bay Leaf, .25 tsp, crumbled (remove)
    # Thyme, ground, .50 tsp (remove)
    # Pepper, black, .50 tsp (remove)
    # *French Baguette (Walmart Bakery), 16 oz (remove)
    # *Kraft 2% Mozzarella Shredded Cheese, 2 cup (remove

Directions

Melt the butter in a nonstick Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until translucent, about 8 minutes. Reduce heat to medum-low and cook. Stirring occasionally, until golden brown and well softened, about 12 minutes. Add the broth, bay leaf, thyme, and pepper, bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, about 30 minutes. Preheat the broiler. Place the bread rounds on a baking sheet and broil 5 inches away from the heat until toasted, about 2 minutes each side.
Place rounds in bowls and then pour soup over and top with cheese. If you choose to do so, you could melt cheese in broiler while placing the bowls on a baking sheet. Makes 8 servings.
