IntroductionLarge pot of soup for cold days. Tastes like stuffed cabbage. Large pot of soup for cold days. Tastes like stuffed cabbage.
1/2 cup split peas(I use 1/4 cup green&1/4 cup yellow)
1/4 cup lentils
1/2 Brown rice
1/4 cup barley
8 cups water
1-1/2 tsp salt
2 large carrots chopped
2 large celery stalks chopped
2 cups shredded cabbage
1 quart diced or chunked tomatoes
1 lb ground beef
In mean time, chop celery and carrots. Shredded cabbage and brown ground beef.
After and hour, add carrots, celery, cabbage, tomatoes and ground beef, simmer for additional 20 - 30 minutes until soup thickens.
Makes about 20 1-cup servings.
