Orange You Peachie Smoothie

Submitted by: JDLANDER

Introduction

This was a hit with my whole family. I served it for breakfast with a toasted bagel and cream cheese. Just all around goodness--fresh fruit and no refined sugar. We're even sneaking a little bit of veggies in. The orange and nectarines give you sweetness without adding more sugar. If you feel it is not sweet enough, add some orange juice concentrate (will add more calories/serving) or sugar free peach torani syrup (no extra calories, but chemicals). Add some flax seed if you want protein (this would change calorie count as well.) This was a hit with my whole family. I served it for breakfast with a toasted bagel and cream cheese. Ingredients

    1 banana
    1 orange
2 c. frozen nectarines or peaches
    1/4 c. shredded carrots
    3 c. fat free milk
    1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

Combine all together and blend until smooth. There may be some nectarine skins still left. If it is not thick enough, add some ice and blend again. Makes 7 servings of just over 1 c. (My blender said it made a about 7 3/4 c. total.)
