The nutrional count is off on this recipe because it was calculated with one chicken breast unit from a 1lb ready to cook chicken. If you make this make sure to re-calculate it yourself for the amount of chicken you use. - 3/5/09

I came close to the calorie count. I used 1 lb. chicken (4 chicken breasts) and got 116 calories for 6 (2/3 cup) servings which was plenty on a long hoagie bun (which is NOT in the calories count. I agree with the others and would like to try BBQ sauce next time. - 5/7/09

one way to make the sauce thicker is to pour the sauce and onions into a blender and process - the onions will thicken the sause without adding extra calories! - 3/5/09

Very tasty!! My only issue was with the nutritional info, when I recalculated it, it came out to 187 calories....100 more calories than what is listed for this recipe. I didn't even put the brown sugar in. So, suggest you recalculate this one. Other than that, it was very good!! Thanks :) - 1/20/09

I replaced the ketchup with BBQ sauce and left out the pop all together. I can't imagine how running it would be with it. - 8/7/08

  • This was not a huge hit with my family. The sauce was definitely too thin even after we tried to thin it with cornstarch. - 4/15/12

  • I am making today with BBQ sauce. I usually take the lid off the pot about an hour before serving to let some of the liquid evaporate. Runny seems synonymous with crockpot! - 7/3/10

  • Delish, although a bit moist. My significants went back again and again; the devils! In the future I'll make it with a larger portion of chicken to stiffen up. They said they think they will like it better, thicker. Cudos agian. - 5/6/10

  • I have made a similar recipe with pork or beef and BBQ sauce for years. Nevr occurred to me to use chicken. Thanks for the idea. - 1/3/10

  • This was just OK for me, didn't like that sauce so runny and it made the bun soggy. The chicken had no flavor once the juice was drained off so the bun wasn't soggy. I don't think I will be making this again, sorry. - 4/8/09

  • This was great! I substituted Diet Pepsi for Diet Coke, and added corn starch as a thickener. It was still a little runny, but we didn't mind. - 12/26/08

  • I thought it tasted better the next day, as leftovers. And I liked it without the bread, i.e. just on the plate, not as a sandwich. My husband and I loved it, but the kids did not, unfortunately. - 1/21/08

  • Was easy to make and good!! sauce was a little runny but we just drained the sauce out and then added some bbq sauce to our sandwiches!!! - 1/21/08

  • I thought it was very good but as others have said the sauce needed to be thinker. A little corn starch probably would help. - 1/19/08

  • This was pretty good. The bun did get soggy and the sauce didn't get as thick as I would have wanted it to be. Next time, I think it needs something else to make it get thicker. I'll try making it again, though. - 1/19/08

  • Very easy and tasty! We added a few dashes of Frank's Red Hot for some kick and a dash of apple cider vinegar. You could easily make a double batch & freeze 1/2 too! - 12/2/07

  • I think the "sauce" was a little runnier than it is supposed to be but I put the chicken in the crockpot frozen so it added water once thawed!! This is a great recipe though and I would definitely make it again!! - 11/25/07
